Del-Nat, Dream Factory partner for charity

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (March 7, 2014) — Del-Nat Tire Corp. and its 50-plus Memphis-area employees, together with Dream Factory Inc., helped a local child afflicted with cerebral palsy realize her dream recently.

Del-Nat's staff participated in various fundraising activities throughout 2013 to grant a wish for 14-year-old Grace Boysen, who suffers from cerebral palsy.

“We had different events on the third Friday of five different months—pie day, bake sales, pot luck lunch, ice cream sundaes and a soup Friday,” said Dell Stone, Del-Nat's senior administrative manager. “It probably wasn't good for our waist lines, but it was good for our hearts.

“We also had ‘Jean Day' each month, when people on those Fridays could pay $5 and wear jeans to work.”

The employees managed to raise $1,742, which went toward a shopping spree for Ms. Boysen at a popular Memphis mall. She rode to the mall in a pink Hummer limousine.

In 2006, Memphis-based Del-Nat began a tradition of supporting a new charity each year, with employees voting on which cause to support. The list of charities includes Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, Ronald MacDonald House and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
