ARLINGTON, Va. (March 7, 2014) — The American Trucking Associations (ATA) has released the latest edition of its Radial Tire Conditions Analysis Guide.
The ATA describes the publication—from its Technology & Maintenance Council unit—as the “industry's most comprehensive tire analysis guide.”
Aimed at fleet managers and tire professionals, the fourth edition of the guide includes more than 200 color photographs and illustrations and contains detailed descriptions of every tire failure and service condition for both original and retreaded tires, according to Arlington-based ATA.
The guide shows what to look for when examining diagonal tire wear, irregular wear, side wall separations, a “zipper condition,” shoulder wear and other conditions.
The association said the publication also explains how to correct a problem. It features updates to existing repair techniques, retread and wear conditions, “as well as new conditions, such as those that pertain to the increasingly popular wide-base tires.”
The guide is available in either book or CD form, with the price at $79 for ATA members and $105 for non-members. Member discounts are also available for ATA member companies and ATA council members.
More information about the guide is available on the ATA website.
