WASHINGTON (Feb. 28, 2014) — The 13th annual National Tire Safety Week will take place June 1-7 across the U.S.
The event is the annual highlight of the Rubber Manufacturers Association's (RMA) year-round “Be Tire Smart—Play Your PART” program, which promotes proper tire inflation, safety and maintenance.
“National Tire Safety Week is an opportunity for the tire industry to focus its collective efforts to educate motorists about the importance of proper tire care,” said RMA Senior Vice President Dan Zielinski.
"Regular tire maintenance is critical to optimizing tire fuel efficiency, maximizing tire tread life and promoting a safer driving experience.”
More than 20,000 tire dealers, auto dealers and automotive repair shops participated in the 12th annual National Tire Safety Week in 2013, the RMA said. Participants strive to make customers aware of tire safety through promotions, advertising, community and media outreach and free tire pressure checks.
Tire and auto retailers interested in participating in National Tire Safety Week may obtain free RMA promotional materials by ordering them online from the association's Be Tire Smart website.
The Rubber Association of Canada has not yet released the dates for National Tie Safety Week in Canada.
