FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (Feb. 27, 2014) — Akebono Brake Corp. said both its Euro and Performance brake pad lines already are fully compliant with state regulations — which take effect in 2021— for low-copper content in brake pads.
Akebono noted that its brake pads have been compliant with the regulations since the lines were launched in 2005.
Ken Selinger, Akebono's director of aftermarket sales and marketing, said the company "has, for years, been a leader in friction technology development, as is evident in the performance of our pads and the fact that they met the 2021 regulations 15 years in advance."
Akebono said its friction products are OE on more than 270 vehicle models.
