NORWELL, Mass. (Feb. 25, 2014) — Sullivan Tire & Auto Service has teamed up with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) in support of the organization's 32nd annual Shamrocks Program.
Now through March 22, Sullivan Tire said customers at four of its stores can purchase and put their names on a $1 green shamrock or a $5 gold one. The paper mobiles will be displayed on the walls and ceiling of the Sullivan Tire showrooms.
The participating Sullivan locations are in Framingham and Newton, Mass.; and Bedford and Keene, N.H.
"We hope our customers will help support this important fundraising campaign, which has been raising much needed funds for decades," said Paul Sullivan, vice president of Sullivan Tire.
"If you're lucky enough to have your health this St. Patrick's Day, this is a wonderful opportunity to pass along some hope to those who are battling this disease."
William Southall, fundraising coordinator with the MDA, said each shamrock sold will directly help MDA families in the community.
Funds raised through 2014 shamrock sales will help to support MDA's local services that include supporting seven Massachusetts and one New Hampshire hospital-affiliated clinics at Children's Hospital, Mass General, Brigham & Women's, Baystate Medical Center, Lahey Clinic Foundation, Tufts Medical Center, and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. They will provide camp sponsorships for children from Massachusetts and New Hampshire to enjoy a free and fully-adaptive summer camp program at Camp Allen in Bedford each July, access to and repair of needed medical equipment, public health education, seminars and support groups, flu shots, $28 million in research grants to Boston & Cambridge based research teams, and more, according to Norwell-based Sullivan Tire.
