ARLINGTON, Va. (Feb. 21, 2014) — The Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) of the American Trucking Associations (ATA) is now accepting applications for its 2014 scholarships for diesel technician studies.
According to the ATA, the scholarships are to the WyoTech campuses at Laramie, Wyo., and Blairsville, Pa.; to the University of Northwestern Ohio; and to Lincoln Technical Institute/Lincoln College of Technology/Nashville Auto Diesel College at their campuses in Denver; Indianapolis; Nashville, Tenn.; East Windsor, Conn.; Grand Prairie, Texas; and South Plainfield, N.J.
Scholarship applicants must have a sponsor who is a current dues-paying member of TMC, or is employed or contracted by a company with at least one dues-paying TMC member, the association said. Applicants must have letters of recommendations from their sponsors, must be graduating from accredited high schools or vocational schools, and have transcripts of their last three academic years.
Applications are due by April 1, and scholarship recipients will be notified by May 1, TMC said. Application forms are available at the ATA website. Further information is available by calling 703-838-1763.
