Professional bass fishing champ Josh Bertrand is running Maxxis tires on his tow vehicle, boat and trailer—all which prominently feature Maxxis' logo.

SUWANEE Ga. (Feb. 20, 2014) — Maxxis International-USA is expanding its sponsorship program with the signing of professional bass-fishing champion Josh Bertrand.

Mr. Bertrand, who is competing in the sport's most prestigious series — the 2014 Bassmaster Elite — has racked up more than 30 victories and 50 top 10 finishes since he began competing at age 15, and was the 2012 Bassmaster Central Open Tour Angler of The Year. He has appeared on ESPN2, the World Fishing Network, the Sportsman's Channel, CBS and Fox Sports.

"As a western-based angler traveling to fish the Elite Series, I put over 50,000 miles a year on my Toyota Tundra and Nitro Trailer," Mr. Bertrand said in a Maxxis press release. Noting that he can count on Maxxis tires, he added: "With tight timelines everywhere I go, I can't afford a blowout or flat tire.

"…I have been running Maxxis All Terrain tires on my truck all year and love the performance. Maxxis trailer tires are known as the best in the industry, and I look forward to spreading their popularity among my fellow anglers."

As part of the sponsorship deal, Mr. Bertrand will run Maxxis tires on his tow vehicle and trailer. The company's logo will appear on his truck, trailer, boat and clothing. The company did not say what the deal is worth.

A Maxxis spokesman said at this time there are no special appearances planned by Mr. Bertrand on behalf of the tire company but details are still in the works.

Brad Williams, a territory sales manager with Maxxis, said the company is equally delighted to have Bertrand on board. "Josh Bertrand is one of the fastest-rising pros in his sport and we're thrilled to sponsor him."

Maxxis said it "looks forward to a year of tournament victories" from Mr. Bertrand, and "thanks him for choosing the brand of champions."

More information on Mr. Bertrand is available on his website.

Suwanee-based Maxxis, a unit of Taiwan's Cheng Shin Rubber Co. Ltd./Maxxis International, markets products for automotive, light truck, motorcycle, ATV, bicycle, lawn and garden and industrial use. The company has operations in Asia, Europe and North America, and its products are distributed in approximately 170 countries. For more information, visit Maxxis' website.
