AKRON (Feb. 13, 2014) — Goodyear and Tredit Tire & Wheel Co. Inc. have extended by one year their 8-year-old agreement covering the supply of Goodyear Marathon radial trailer tires to trailer manufacturers for OE fitment.
Elkhart, Ind.-based Tredit is a supplier of wheels and tire-and-wheel assemblies for trailers used in the recreational vehicle, cargo, livestock, boat and utility segments, with seven regional distribution centers.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Goodyear will continue to supply Tredit its Marathon ST tires, which range in size from 13 to 16 inches in rim diameters.
Tredit Tire offers seven other radial trailer tire brands as well—Freestar; Grand Ride; Rainier; Sailun/Hercules; Towmax; Trail America; and Trailer King—plus some bias-ply brands.
Most trailer tires are delivered to trailer manufacturers as mounted tire-and-wheel assemblies, thereby relieving the trailer manufacturers of the burden of ordering tires, rims and valves, maintaining inventories, mounting and inflating, Goodyear said.
