OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 13, 2014) — Fast-Fill compressed natural gas (CNG) is now available for heavy-duty trucks and passenger vehicles at Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores' truck stop in Willis, Texas.

The travel center, located on Interstate 45 at Exit 95, is the company's first Texas Triangle location and the first of 10 stations across the country it plans to open offering Fast-Fill CNG.

“Willis is in a location that's heavily traveled by professional fleets and light-duty vehicles, so this location makes sense,” said Bill Cashmareck, general manager of natural gas at Love's. The station is designed to make travel between Houston, Dallas and San Antonio using CNG feasible. The company will open several more Love's Fast-Fill CNG locations in additional areas to complete the triangle, “opening up a corridor between the three cities,” he added.

CNG is available for $1.99 in Willis, according to Oklahoma City-based Love's. The station, which also features a Love's Truck Tire Care center, will host an event to celebrate the addition of CNG at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 4, involving customers Love's said “are on the cutting edge of alternative fuels and excited to use the station, such as Dart Transit Co.”

Jeff Resch, dedicated sales and operations manager for Dart, said the company “is leading the industry when it comes to alternative fuels. Love's heavy-duty CNG station in Willis is an ideal location for our dedicated business in Texas.”

Love's CNG stations are designed to deliver a fill rate of greater than 10 gallons per minute in all lanes, meaning a driver can fill a 100 gallon equivalent tank in 10 minutes or less, the company said.

“We've made a promise to provide innovative solutions to our customers. Supplying them with the option to use Love's Fast-Fill CNG is one way we've kept that promise,” said Cashmareck.

Love's previously announced it would expand its Fast-Fill CNG network at 10 of its travel stops across Texas and Oklahoma, as well as truck stop in Burbank, Ohio.

Founded in 1964 by Tom Love, the family-owned and operated chain operates more than 310 locations and 180 Love's a Tire Care centers in 39 states, with an approximate growth rate of 20 stores per year.
