ELGIN, Ill. (Jan. 29, 2014) — Sweden's SKF A.B. has named Tom O'Brien president of its SKF Vehicle Service Market (VSM), North America business unit, effective immediately.
Mr. O'Brien, who has been interim president of SKF VSM since the death last October of former president Mike McGrath, was the unit's vice president of automotive sales since joining the company in 2007.
In his new role, Mr. O'Brien will oversee all sales and marketing initiatives for SKF VSM's automotive and heavy-duty aftermarket business in North America, the company said. He will report to Christer Cedervall, director, SKF VSM Global, and will continue to be based at the company's Elgin office.
“We are pleased to have Tom transition into the role as president for SKF VSM, North America,” Mr. Cedervall said. “Tom's keen understanding of the industry and demonstrated managerial and leadership skills in his previous roles at SKF gives him a strong foundation for overseeing the continued success of the SKF Vehicle Service Market.”
