DELPHOS, Ohio (Jan. 23, 2014) — K&M Tire Inc. has purchased the assets of Mid-Tex Wholesale Tire in Waco, Texas.

The purchase, effective Jan. 27, includes tire inventory and a customer list. Financial details were not disclosed.

Mid-Tex Wholesale Tire was predominantly a Cooper Tire wholesaler.

K&M said it plans to service Mid-Tex customers from the company's existing warehouses in the Dallas and Houston areas.

"We are very excited about this opportunity with Mid-Tex to expand and add to our customer base in Texas," said Cheryl Gossard, K&M Tire vice president. "K&M has spent the last year laying the foundation in Texas to be ready and capable of significantly increasing our sales in this market. We moved into a larger warehouse, increased our tire inventory levels, along with hiring and training sales staff and drivers."

K&M Tire has warehouses in Dallas and Houston that it acquired in 2012 from Reliable Tire.

"Customer service is our number one priority so it is extremely important for us to have everything in place before we focus on adding sales in our newer markets. We want to make sure that our customers receive the top notch service we feel they deserve and have come to expect from K&M Tire."

Former Mid-Tex Wholesale Tire owner Dean Harper will work with K&M to assist in the transition.

K&M Tire operates 16 distribution centers throughout the Great Lakes, Midwest, and Great Plains regions , servicing customers in more than 20 states.
