DETROIT (Jan. 21, 2014) — Ford Motor Co. will equip the base V6-powered and turbocharged "EcoBoost" versions of the 2015 Mustang with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season tires.

These fitments are in addition to the Pirelli P Zero and P Zero Nero All-Season tires for the V8-powered Mustang GT — the latest iteration of the car maker's iconic muscle car marking its 50th year on the market.

The 3.7-liter V6 base model is fitted with 235/55R17 all-seasons standard, with a 235/50R18 and 255/40R19 all-seasons and 265/35R20 summer optional, along with a performance package fitment of 255/40R19 summer.

    The 2.3-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost model is fitted with 235/55R17 all-season standard, with a 235/50R18 all-season optional.

Goodyear describes the Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season as a "race-inspired tire" that offers ultra-high-performance handling and all-season traction. It features a tread compound engineered for enhanced wet and dry traction in any season and TredLock Technology—microgrooves that help provide biting edges for enhanced wet traction and lock together for confident grip in turns.

"With every Eagle tire, Goodyear strives to deliver superior performance to drivers who want attributes such as confident traction and handling," said Tara Foote, Goodyear brand manager.

"It is further validation when an expert such as Ford chooses to equip its ultra-popular Mustang model with Goodyear Eagle tires."

Pirelli also supplies the P Zero in size 255/40ZR19 96Y and the Nero All Season in size 255/40ZR19 96W size for the Mustang EcoBoost model, along with the 20-inch XL-rated version.
