OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 16, 2014) — Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores kicked off its 50th anniversary by announcing it will undertake a record year of building, including expanding its network of Truck Tire Care centers.
Love's said its approximate growth rate is 20 new stores per year. However, the company aims to open as many as 30 new stores this year.
"I'm humbled every day by our success," said Tom Love, founder and executive chairman.
"Our unwavering commitment to our customers has been a significant force that's driven us full-speed into the second 50 years of Love's. We've never shifted focus. We're growing so that we can meet the growing needs of our customers."
The Oklahoma City-based travel stop will also reach another feat when it enters into its 40th state when it plans to open by this fall a location in Cumberland, Md.
Love's said it also is in the midst of reinvesting in its current locations, with several stores to be remodeled and expanded while some will be razed and rebuilt.
The truck stop chain also said it will continue to expand its Truck Tire Care centers, with facilities expanded to accommodate more services.
The company is also adding compressed natural gas (CNG) to select fueling stations nationwide this year. All these measures, Love's said, highlight the company's commitment to keep its customers' changing needs in focus.
