BAYTOWN, Texas (Dec. 30, 2013) — The Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA) recenlty awarded synthetic rubber producer Lanxess A.G.'s Baytown facility its 2013 Silver Award for Product Stewardship.
The award recognizes the facility for its achievements in improving its environmental, health, safety and security. This is the sixth year the Baytown plant has received the award from SOCMA.
The Baytown factory houses the firm's Advanced Industrial Intermediates business unit's production site. The facility was recognized for its efforts to provide customers, distributors and other product receivers with information on the safe use, transport and dispose of chemicals.
Lanxess is a specialty chemicals manufacturer with a presence in 31 countries and 52 production sites worldwide. Its core business is developing, manufacturing and marketing plastics, rubber, intermediates and specialty chemicals.
