QUIGDAO, China (Dec. 30, 2013) — Chinese tire equipment maker Mesnac Co. Ltd. has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with emFrontier Inc., a subsidiary of Hankook Tire Co. Inc.
The two parties will work together in the fields of IT solutions, factory automation and logistics automation.
Zheng Jiangjia, executive vice president of Mesnac, said the firms first will work on IT solutions. EmFrontier offers supply chain management and manufacturing execution systems package solutions. Mesnac is the first professional supplier in conducting manufacturing execution systems research and development and applications in the Chinese rubber and tire industry.
The partnership is intended “to further strengthen their competitiveness and provide more services to their global clients,” according to the firms.
Founded in 2000, emFrontier is the IT subsidiary of Hankook Tire. It specializes in the research and development of SCM and MES systems that incorporate management in warehouses, distribution logistics, comprehensive manufacturing and special machinery.
Mesnac is the world's second largest producer of equipment for the rubber and tire industry. It was founded at Qingdao University of Science and Technology.
The company announced in November that it planned to open a research and technical center in Akron to serve the Americas.
