Discount Tire/America's Tire opened its first store in Kansas, in Lawrence, in November.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Dec. 19, 2013) — Discount Tire/America's Tire opened 10 stores in nine states in recent weeks, including its first store in Kansas and second and third stores in Iowa.

The openings expand the Scottsdale-based retailer's network to more than 875 stores in 28 states.

The store in Kansas opened Nov. 6 on the west side of Lawrence. Duane Burnette, a 22-year company veteran, manages the 6,930-sq.-ft. location and its seven employees.

“Based on the market size and demographics of the area, Lawrence is a perfect fit for Discount Tire,” said Rob Wise, regional vice president. “As we expand our presence in the Heartland region, we are always growing and seeking opportunities to serve communities like Lawrence,”

Discount Tire's second store in Iowa is in Coralville, a suburb of Iowa City.

After opening its first store in Iowa in early September, Discount Tire added stores in Coralville and Davenport in early November.

Trent Wise, a 3-year Discount Tire employee, manages 10,400-sq.-ft. store in Coralville, a northern suburb of Iowa City. The store opened with 13 employees, three of whom were new to Discount Tire.

The Davenport store is Discount Tire's second in the Mississippi River city. Brian Meads, a 13-year company veteran, manages the 6,930-sq.-ft. store and its 10 employees.

The other new stores opened recently are in California, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, Ohio and two in Texas.

The new Texas locations are in San Antonio, where the firm now has 17 stores, and Missouri City, a southwest suburb of Houston where Discount Tire already operates two stores.

Discount Tire's new store in Macedonia, Ohio, is the 14th in the Buckeye State but first in northeast Ohio.

The new San Antonio store is managed by Rick Rodriguez, a 19-year company veteran who oversees 20 employees.

Greg Watson, a 28-year company veteran, manages the 6,947-sq.-ft. store in Missouri City and its 10 employees.

Discount Tire now has 227 stores in Texas — the most in any state.

In California, the dealership opened its first America's Tire location in Jackson, a town of about 5,000 southeast of Sacramento. The 6,930-sq.-ft. store is managed by Art Blansitt, a 16-year Discount Tire employee. The store, the dealership's 135th in California, has seven employees.

In Missouri, the dealership opened a third store in Kansas City, a 6,947-sq.-ft. structure on the near north side. Kelly Cruce, an 11-year company veteran, manages the store and its 13 employees.

In Nevada, Discount Tire opened its second store in Reno, a 6,930-sq.-ft. location with 18 employees. It's managed by Dave Burnett, a nine-year veteran. It's the dealership's 24th store in Nevada.

In Nebraska, Discount opened its second store in Omaha, a 6,947-sq.ft. location managed by Phil Burch, a 17-year company veteran, who oversees 13 employees.

In Ohio, Discount Tire's newest store is in Macedonia, a community of 11,000 southeast of Cleveland. The 6,930-sq.-ft. store is Discount's 14th in the Buckeye State, but first in northeast Ohio.

Chris Salle, a 15-year company veteran, manages the store and its 11 employees.

Discount Tire sells a range of leading tire brands such as Goodyear, Michelin, Bridgestone, Yokohama, Kumho, BFGoodrich, Pirelli, Hankook, Falken, along with Discount Tire exclusive brands such as Fisk and GT Radial, along with custom wheels from Enkei, Konig, Liquidmetal, TSW, Akuza and other companies.
