NEW YORK (Dec. 17, 2013) — Standard Motor Products Inc. (SMP) has released a new, printed TPMS Application and Illustrated Parts Guide.
The comprehensive catalog includes new items as well as updates to existing product coverage for both the company's Standard and Intermotor OE-matching, clone-able tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) sensor lines.
Phil Hutchens, vice president of engine management marketing for SMP, said the latest release is an effort “to continue to give our customers the tools they need to capture their share of this growing category.”
Catalog highlights include: numerical index for TPMS sensors; service kits and sensors grouped together by vehicle application; additional details on valve stem applications for Audi, BMW and Mercedes; expanded frequency applications for Toyota; and new sensor illustrations with enhanced features and service kit applications.

SMP claims its TPMS sensors provide more than 98 percent full-line VIO coverage. Its standard TPMS sensors are engineered to match OE fit, form and function while offering the technology to be ID cloned to the sensor they replace using a TechSmart cloning tool, according to the company. Each clone-able sensor has its own unique sensor ID, the right protocol and matching body style. Standard clone-able TPMS sensors offer technicians “the advantage of bypassing complex factory relearn processes, therefore saving time and money while maintaining OE fit, form and function,” SMP said.
