PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (Dec. 10, 2013) — TBC Corp.'s Tire Kingdom retail chain will continue as the exclusive Founders Club Partner for the Honda Classic golf tournament event.
Since 2009, Tire Kingdom has had its exclusive partnership with the four-day annual tournament—scheduled for Feb. 27-March 2, 2014—that attracts nearly 170,000 spectators.
TBC said a favorite component of the PGA-sanctioned golf competition, in Palm Beach Gardens, is the distribution of giant autograph golf balls bearing the Tire Kingdom logo that are distributed to more than 1,500 children attending the tournament.
“The Honda Classic is a great event that attracts visitors to Florida from all over the world. We love that this event is in our backyard and that Tire Kingdom hosts such a fun-filled experience for the entire family, especially the kids,” said Scott Stoughton, TBC chief marketing officer.
Ken Kennerly, executive director of the Honda Classic, said Tire Kingdom “has made an enormous impact on the Honda Classic on so many levels since we moved the tournament to PGA National in 2007.
“Their focus on charity and giving back to the community has been paramount, and thanks in part to their Founders Club sponsorship, we have been able to raise our charitable contributions from $600,000 in 2007 to over $2.1 million in 2013. From sponsoring our fireworks shows on Friday and Saturday nights to our Saturday Family Day, the Gold Pro Am, and serving as a Pillar Partner in our Military Appreciation Program, Tire Kingdom has been there to support the Honda Classic in so many instrumental ways.
“We are proud to have Tire Kingdom as part of our family and look forward to many more years of working in tandem with their staff for the betterment of the community and the South Florida Children's charities that together we support."
TBC plans to disburse more than 800 tickets to Tire Kingdom customers through various online and in-store promotions, the company said. Additionally, visitors to Tire Kingdom's Facebook page are eligible to win a grand-prize package that includes round-trip airfare, a four-day pass to the play-off action, hotel accommodations and more. Details are available on Tire Kingdom's Facebook page.
Until the Honda Classic tournament is held, Tire Kingdom will participate in several events including the Honda Classic 5K run/walk on Jan. 18. The events benefit more than 120 South Florida children's charities through the Nicklaus Children's Health Care Foundation, according to TBC.
