PITTSBURGH (Dec. 10, 2013) — Flynn's Tire Group recently donated $1,680 to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation.
The donation fulfills a commitment the company said it made earlier this year to donate $10 for each home run hit by the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team during the 2013 season.
The Pirates hit a total of 168 home runs during the team's regular and post season games. Attending the check presentation ceremony was Amy Razem, associate director, annual giving, Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation. Representing Flynn's Tire Group was President Joe Flynn III, President and Vice President Anne Flynn.
“We are extremely proud to make this donation to such a worthy organization,” Mr. Flynn said. “We are also proud of the accomplishment of the Pittsburgh Pirates this season. It was a real boost to the fans to have them achieve a winning record and reach the playoffs.”
According to Flynn's Tire, Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC is “a leader in the treatment of childhood conditions and diseases, a pioneer in the development of new and improved therapies and a top educator of the next generation of pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists.” The hospital was founded in 1890.
