CYPRESS, Calif. (Nov. 27, 2013) — Nitto Tire U.S.A. Inc. has hit 5 million Facebook fans, up from 3 million just eight months ago.
"We are truly delighted by this accomplishment in our social media efforts," said Nitto Tire President Keiko Brockel.
"More than ever, we are driven to live up to our tagline 'Fueled by Enthusiasts,'" she said. "Upholding the commitment we've made to our fans, we will continue to deliver innovative products that they demand, and provide them the opportunity to become a part of the community that drives many of our actions."
Nitto attributed its success in this area to unique engagement strategies, such as the "Nitto Ambassador Program," where fans are empowered to speak on behalf of the brand; a live multi-player mobile drag racing game, "Racing Rivals"; and a proprietary automotive interest blog, DrivingLine.com.
To mark its Facebook milestone, Nitto said will be hosting an Auto Enthusiast Day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 7 at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif. The open invite event will have numerous automotive aftermarket brands and local car clubs, according to the tire maker.
Nitto said the event has already attracted more than 500 registered attendees and 150 high-performance show vehicles.
Highlights of the day will include:
• Free admission and parking;
• Gift bags for first 1,000 attendees;
• Car show with 21 specialty vehicle awards up for grabs;
• Live drifting and off-road vehicle demonstrations;
• Free raffles for drifting ride-alongs and sets of tires;
• Autograph signing by Formula D superstar Vaughn Gittin, Jr. ;
• Vendor Ally with several major automotive exhibitors; and
• Liberty Walk vehicles from the 2013 SEMA Show.
Exhibitors will include: Monster Energy, Off-Road Evolution, Beat Sonic, Dsport, Eibach, Fontana, Nissan, Igloo Case, Motegi/Wheel Pros, RSR and Synapse.
