WASHINGTON (Nov. 15, 2013) — Hankook Tire America Corp. is recalling 1,495 Hankook Dynapro MT tires, size LT325/60R18 RT03, for possible separations at the tread belt edge.
The tires were manufactured at Hankook's plant in Jiangsu, South Korea, Hankook told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
"In recent tests, certain tires did satisfy Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, but did not fully meet internal performance criteria," the tire maker told NHTSA.
The tires could suffer a premature end to their service life under extreme conditions or abuse, Hankook said, but as yet there have been no complaints, returns or claims regarding the tires.
Hankook will replace the tires free of charge, and will begin notifying owners this month, according to the NHTSA recall notice. Tire owners may all contact Hankook directly at 800-466-5665.
