GARDENA, Calif.—Tireco Inc. has updated its sales management team for the eastern U.S., promoting Ken Thornton to eastern regional sales director and adding tire industry veterans Ron Brady, Jeff Anderson and Wayne Hazen.
In his new role, Mr. Thornton, a 30-year industry veteran, will oversee the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Great Lakes and Southeast territories for Tireco. He previously was Tireco's Southeastern territory manager.
Mr. Brady, Tireco's regional territory manager for the Mid-Atlantic, previously worked for Free Service Tire Co. as vice president of wholesale operations, Tireco said. Prior to managing Free Service, he was a regional account manager at Good-year.
Mr. Anderson, who previously was a regional sales manager and key client manager for Kumho Tire USA Inc., joined Tireco as corporate accounts manager. Prior to working for Kumho, Mr. Anderson served as a territory manager for Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., Tireco said.
Mr. Hazen, Tireco's new territory manager for the Southeast region, joined the company after serving as vice president of sales for Barron's Wholesale Tire. Previously he had served as a territory manager for Cooper Tire.

DOTHAN, Ala.—Scott Sulsberger has joined Hornsby Tire Distributors as director of sales and marketing.
The independent regional wholesale tire distributor said Mr. Sulsberger has a 13-year background in the tire industry, coming to Hornsby from Nexen Tire Corp. where he served as a regional manager. He also has been a regional manager for Yokohama Tire Corp. and Pirelli Tire North America Inc.
HOUSTON—Horizon Tire Corp. has appointed Tony Pollack and Sergio Teran to sales positions.
Mr. Pollack was named vice president of the Northeast region and is responsible for key account sales in Maine, Vermont., New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Maryland, Delaware and Washington, D.C. Mr. Pollack has experience in retail, commercial and wholesale, including management positions in the tire industry. He most recently was a regional sales manager at Tireco Inc.
Mr. Teran was named sales director of the company's central division, Horizon Tire said, and is responsible for corporate sales and sales staff management in Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Wisconsin and Texas. Mr. Teran comes to Horizon Tire with 28 years' sales experience in the tire and wheel industry. He most recently was a regional sales manager at Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc.
CORONA, Calif.—Gino Tagliaferri has joined Tire's Warehouse Inc. (TWI) as manager of commercial sales and marketing.
The newly created position “is instrumental in the growth and expansion plans of TWI,” the Corona-based company said. Mr. Tagliaferri has extensive experience in the commercial tire business, with posts at China Manufacturers Alliance L.L.C. and CMA Inc., TWI said, which included national implementation of commercial tire sales programs.
For the past nine years he was the regional sales manager for American Pacific Industries, the exclusive U.S. importer of Gladiator tires.
“Gino is an integral member of our commercial sales team, and this addition takes us another step closer to our overall expansion plans,” TWI President Dan King said.
TWI's brands portfolio includes Bridgestone, Firestone, Continental, General, Falken, Hankook, Kumho, Nexen, Sumitomo and Yokohama as well as TWI house brands such as Accelera, Delinte, Doral, Gladiator, Landsail and Rotalla. The firm operates five warehouses in and around Los Angeles.
