FINDLAY, Ohio (Nov. 7, 2013) — Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. is looking to better serve its customers with the scheduled December opening of a Tire Dealer's Warehouse (TDW) branch in Seattle and the relocation of its TDW location in Houston to a new facility, scheduled to open Nov. 18.
The new Seattle TDW location, its 15th, is a 40,000-sq.-ft. facility in the Washington South Sound area. It will feature the company's new Rapid Delivery Service (RDS), with free delivery twice a day and same day and express options to most areas, the company said.
The warehouse has approximately 1 million cubic feet of space, eight docks and a will-call area, Findlay-based Hercules said. In addition to the Seattle metro area, it will service all of North Washington.
"We have been servicing the Seattle market out of our Portland, Ore., location since its opening in 2007," said Bill Trimarco, president and CEO of Hercules. "The reason for establishing a physical presence in Seattle is simple—better service. Increasing delivery routes and accessibility to will-call in the Seattle metro market will provide our customers with more options to compete in today's market."
Also opening soon is the company's 46,000-sq.-ft. facility in north Houston, which also will feature the company's RDS. The warehouse boasts about 1.4 million cubic feet of space, the company said.
"TDW has had a history of excellent customer service in the Texas market for many years. Our move to a bigger and more modern facility, coupled with improvements to technology and operations, will allow us to service our customers at an even higher level," Mr. Trimarco said.
Both locations will offer the full line of Hercules-brand tires and Ironman-brand passenger, light truck and OTR/specialty tires. Other brands that will be offered through the location include Bridgestone, Firestone, Yokohama, Nexen, Falken and the Solideal Industrial brand, Hercules said.
