ST. LOUIS (Nov. 7, 2013) — Several tire companies recently participated as sponsors for the 4th annual Gateway Warrior Foundation golf benefit, which raises funds to support wounded service men and women.
More than $100,000 was donated to foundations supported by the tournament, which took place Oct. 7 at the Country Club of St. Albans in Albans, Mo. Foundations that received donations as part of the tournament included the Troops First Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, Helping a Hero and St. Louis Fisher House.
About $68,000 worth of donations came from tire company sponsorships and tire supplier support. "Medal of Honor" sponsors—which were required to donate $15,000 each, according to the Gateway Warrior Foundation website—included Community Wholesale Tire Distributors Inc., Community Tire Retreading, Bridgestone Americas and Strategic Import Supply.
Donations came from additional tire company sponsorships and tire supplier support, including:
- Goodyear;
- Continental Tire the Americas L.L.C.;
- Hercules Tire & Rubber Co.;
- Mitas a.s.;
- Pirelli Tire North America Inc.;
- Duro Tire & Wheel;
- Tube & Solid Tire;
- Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp.;
- Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels; and
- Tyres International.
