LAS VEGAS (Nov. 6, 2013) — Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. introduced the Mastercraft MXT, a premium off-road light truck tire at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas.
The new Courser MXT is, according to the Findlay, Ohio-based tire maker, "built for serious off-road performance." It features the latest in mud-terrain construction and performance along with an aggressive off-road design.
"With the introduction of the Courser MXT, Mastercraft is expanding its proven family of light truck products to encompass extreme off-road needs," said Scott Jamieson, Cooper Tire's director of product management. "We are excited about showcasing it at SEMA and to give our customers an exclusive first look."
The tire boasts newly enhanced technology, according to Cooper, with a deep, functional "side biter" design that enables the Courser MXT to propel through tough off-road conditions with improved maximum traction. In addition, the tire features enhanced stud pinning and siping for better grip on wet surfaces and in icy conditions.
Cooper said the Courser MXT will be available in 23 of the industry's most popular light truck sizes in the off-road segment. More information on the new Courser and other Mastercraft tires is available on the company's Mastercraft website.
