CLERMONT-FERRAND, France (Oct. 9, 2013) — Group Michelin recognized six suppliers recently, presenting awards for their contributions in 2011 and 2012.
Saarstahl, Avasarala and Europcar each received the quality prize for outstanding quality performance; Siemens VAI won an innovation prize because of its optimized process; and Umicore won a performance and responsibility prize.
Turkish textile reinforcements manufacturer KordSA Global won a special prize because it leveraged all of its resources during the October 2011 floods in Thailand to keep supplies flowing.
Saarstahl is a German manufacturer of metal reinforcements and won in the raw materials procurement category.
Avasarala is an Indian precision machinery manufacturer and won in the industrial procurement category.
Europcar is a French rental car company and won in the service procurement category.
