COLOGNE, Germany (Oct. 2, 2013) — Synthetic rubber producer Lanxess A.G. has debuted two neodymium polybutadiene (NdPBR) rubber grades designed to facilitate the production of fuel-efficient tires, among other products.
The company claims Buna Nd 22 EZ and Buna Nd 24 EZ offer the following advantages:
• High molar mass through narrow polydispersity;
• Low Mooney viscosity;
• Long chain branching to accelerate incorporation of fillers into the rubber matrix; and
• Chemical modification of chains to enhance rubber/filler interaction.
