FAIRFIELD, Calif. (Sept. 30, 2013) — Omni United Pte. Ltd., the global distributor of Radar-brand tires and other lines, is expanding its North American footprint with the opening of its first Radar distribution center in the U.S.
The new center in Fairfield has the capacity for more than 60,000 tires and will be used to store the company's flagship Radar brand. Omni said the additional space is needed "to accommodate the brand's growing production and sales volumes, along with its ever-increasing product range."
Scott Rhodes, Omni vice president of sales for North America, said the new center "provides a much higher level of service to our customers throughout the United States. It allows us to better serve the needs of our growing retail customers and distributors, accelerating time to market."
According to Singapore-based Omni, the distribution center will support retailers and multiple distribution points throughout the U.S. and provide dealers with expedited access to the line of Radar tire products. The company said it is counting on the Fairfield facility to reduce lead time for product delivery as the result of a competitive shipping policy that includes pre-paid delivery on all qualified orders.
"Everything we do at Omni United is about serving the best need of our customers and translating our products and services into a better customer experience" Mr. Rhodes said, noting the new center "is an integral part of our plan for our continued growth and expansion of product offerings" in the U.S.
For every Radar tire sold, Omni said it plans to donate $5 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF)—with a minimum annual donation of $200,000 and a maximum donation of $250,000. The BCRF is a New York-based non-profit organization that funds clinical and translational research worldwide into finding a cure for breast cancer.
Omni, founded in 2003 by entrepreneur G. S. Sareen, markets passenger car, SUV, truck, bus and farm tires under its Radar, Goodride, Roadlux and Corsa brands.
