KOBE, Japan (Sept. 27, 2013) — Falken Tire Corp. has moved up the anticipated launch date for its Ziex ZE950 all-season high-performance tire to Jan. 1 from Feb. 1, now that parent Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. began production of the tire.
Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.-based Falken Tire will debut the new tire during the 2013 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas, company officials disclosed this week during 26 during a visit by Tire Business to SRI's technical center in Kobe.
The tire marketer said the ZE950 will be a "power line" for Falken, replacing its popular ZE912 model, and will be available in 95 sizes.
Andrew Hoit, vice president of marketing for Falken, said the company expects the tire to become its best-selling model.
