MADISON, Ind. (Sept. 27, 2013) — Rotary Lift, a Vehicle Service Group brand, has added a compressed-air-operated mobile tire lift, the MW-200 Mobile Wheel Lift, to its portfolio of vehicle service-bay products.
Rotary Lift said the MW-200 provides 200 pounds of lifting capacity at 100 psi, enough to lift a broad range of wheels and tires.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics, back injuries account for one in five workplace injuries or illnesses. Rotary Lift said the MW-200 can help reduce the risk of employee injury.
"More than 1 million workers suffer back injuries each year on the job," said Ron Lainhart, parts and service manager for Rotary Lift.
He said the majority of those injuries occur when employees try to lift heavy or awkward objects, which happens a lot in the vehicle service industry. With the MW-200 "you can protect your shop from expensive compensation claims."
Rotary Lift said the MW-200's air-operated design requires no batteries and has a rise time of just six seconds. The wheel lift rolls on four high-quality casters for easy maneuverability and features single-lever controls for quick operation.
Once properly positioned within the lift, Rotary Lift said a tire or wheel can be rotated 360 degrees on three large rollers that allow the technician to align the wheel and hub without straining to hold a heavy load.
The MW-200's column is offset on its rolling base to provide unobstructed access to the lug nuts. Each MW-200 includes an air hose, so the lift is ready to use upon delivery. An additional air tool connector is mounted on the column, next to a tray for parts, to reduce the number of hoses running from the compressor.
"We've made this tool as easy to use as possible, so technicians will want to rely on it all the time," said Mr. Lainhart. "Once they start using this wheel lift on a regular basis, the shop will become a safer, more efficient work environment."
