AKRON (Sept. 25, 2013) — Myers Tire Supply will start carrying Bosch Automotive Service Solutions' line of Bosch wheel service equipment, including wheel balancers, tire changers and brake lathes, the companies disclosed today.
The partnership includes two balancer lines — WBE 4200 and 4400 LED balancers — that will be available exclusively through Myers Tire's nationwide distribution network, Bosch Automotive said.
Adding the Bosch brand "gives our sales team a unique advantage over our traditional and non-traditional competitors, while also providing our customers with a wide variety of options, ensuring the right selection is made for their specific needs," said Todd Smith, vice president of Myers Tire Supply and general manager of Myers' Distribution Group.
Mr. Smith said the move will broaden the depth of Myers' equipment product portfolio, which should provide the company with an opportunity to expand its market share in these segments.
"This new distribution partnership helps us provide end users with the quality they expect from Bosch in another area of their shop," said Ed Prange, vice president Independent Aftermarket Americas for Bosch Automotive.
"Introducing the Wheel Service line via a trusted, established partner like Myers Tire Supply is a huge step in quickly setting Bosch Wheel Service equipment as the leader in the market," Mr. Prange said.
The WBE 4200 LED balancer is equipped with innovative programs including EASY FIX auto measuring system and auto wheel weight selection, as well as ADF auto detection function for weight positioning, Bosch said, while the 4400 LED balancer comes with digital display.
Bosch Automotive, a subsidiary of Germany's Bosch Group, expanded its wheel service equipment business — tire changers, wheel balancers and wheel alignment equipment — in North America in 2008 via its acquisition of Accu Industries Inc.
