ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (Sept. 24, 2013) — The Automotive Maintenance and Repair Association (AMRA) is offering its Motorist Assurance Program (MAP) Uniform Inspection and Communication Standards (UICS) to its members via the Internet.
"Traditionally, MAP UIC Standards have been made available in a downloadable, printable document format," said AMRA President Barry Soltz. "If you are one of our service provider members with thousands of locations, printing our standards becomes very costly."
AMRA/MAP has reformatted its "Conditions, Codes and Procedures" into a searchable database. All MAP UIC Standards are now available to technicians of AMRA member companies via a secure link from the member company's intranet.
Many component terms are translated into Spanish and French, and hot links to glossary term definitions are available on every page, according to MAP. Illustrations are available for many key components, along with links to other critical information regarding that component or service. Each page is printable so that it can be shared with a consumer, and technicians can email comments regarding content of the e-UICS directly to AMRA/MAP offices, the association said.
