LONDON (Sept. 20, 2013) — The organizers of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) have renewed Dunlop Motorsports as the series' official tire supplier for an undisclosed number of years.
Dunlop Motorsports, a unit of Goodyear-Dunop Tyres U.K., has been the series sole tire supplier since the 2003 season.
ToCa Ltd., the series organizer, did not disclose financial terms of the contract and said the renewal is a "multi-year" contract. It did not specify whether Dunlop will continue as a presenting sponsor as well as tire supplier.
The series officially is known as the "Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championships." MSA is Motor Sports Association, the sole motorsport governing body in the United Kingdom.
The agreement calls for Dunlop to continue supplying a range of tires, including Sport Maxx soft, medium and hard compounds and BluResponse wet tires.
"The BTCC is one of the most prestigious and important championships in Europe," said James Bailey, motorsport communications and marketing director, Dunlop Europe. "We are delighted to be re-appointed as official tire supplier."
Alan Gow of ToCa called Dunlop a "responsive, enthusiastic manufacturer" of quality race tires and said the partnership has been "mutually rewarding."
Dunlop also is the tire supplier of the Australian V8 Supercar Championship and supplies tires to a number of teams in the European Le Mans Series and FIA World Endurance Championships along with various other national racing series in Europe.
