DAVENPORT, Iowa (Sept. 19, 2013) — Discount Tire/America's Tire has opened its first store in Iowa, in Davenport, expanding its network reach to 27 states.
"We see great growth potential in Iowa and are thrilled to be expanding our presence in the Heartland region," said Rob Wise, regional vice president. He did not elaborate on what plans Discount Tire has for additional stores in Iowa.
The location will be managed by Richard Seabrook, who has been with the company for 14 years. He will oversee six employees.
Iowa is the third new state in the past year for Discount Tire. In June it opened its first two stores in Missouri and in late December 2012/early January 2013 it opened two stores in Kentucky.
Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Discount Tire also opened a store in Kingman, Ariz., its first in that city and 70th in Arizona. It is managed by Joe Nunez, who has been with the company for nearly 10 years. He oversees 10 employees.
In Texas, Discount Tire opened a store in Laredo, its 225th in that state and second in the Laredo area. Michael Castillo, a 14-year company veteran, manages the store and its 15 employees.
Nationwide, Discount Tire now has more than 865 stores in 27 states, including 25 new stores in the past year.
It recently won the Harris Poll EquiTrend brand of the year honors from Harris Interactive Inc.
Discount Tire stores are open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
