NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 9, 2013) — Bridgestone Commercial Solutions launched the second leg of its "Firestone Drives America Tour" at the NCAA college football game between Stanford and San Jose State Sept. 7 — the first of eight games for the road show.
The traveling tour crossed the country this summer, stopping at 12 Minor League Baseball games. Tour attendees learned about the innovation behind the company's line of eco-friendly products, along with the tires' performance benefits, Bridgestone said.
Bridgestone donated $15,000 during the tour to help feed the hungry in those local communities.
"The Firestone Drives America Tour summer stops were a great success, providing fun experiences for thousands of attendees, including a chance to learn about our latest Firestone commercial truck tires — the FS591 steer, FD691 drive and FT491 all-position radials," said Matthew Stevenson, vice president of marketing, Bridgestone Commercial Solutions.
"The tour also provided us with a wonderful opportunity to help those in need. The $15,000 we contributed perfectly aligns to our company's ongoing commitment to serving our communities."
The tour is part of the company's "Those With Drive, Drive a Firestone" campaign, which first kicked off in March and includes a series of activities across the U.S. The campaign includes the "Drive a Firestone Sweepstakes," in which one Class 8-CDL holder will win a grand prize special Firestone Edition Class 8 tractor that has been on display during the tour.
The Firestone Drives America Tour concludes at the 2014 Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky. A complete road show tour schedule can be found on the Firestone truck tires website.
