FULLERTON, Calif. (Sept. 6, 2013) — Yokohama Tire Corp. will exhibit its Y20 and Y67 mining tires at the Bluefield Coal Show, Sept. 11-13 at the Brushfork Armory-Civic Center in Bluefield, W.Va.
Yokohama said its 36-ply heavy-duty Y20 39x15x20 is ideal for scoops and coal haulers needing heavy weight carrying capacity in a 39-inch tall tire.
Tim Easter, YTC director of OTR sales, said the Y20 "also allows for the replacement of a 15-inch rim with a heavy-duty 20-inch rim for better durability and extra room around the hub. This promotes cooler running brakes, and better access and torque on the lug bolts."
He added the Y20 was developed to take large shuttle cars down to lower mine levels, enabling access to deeper coal seams while still offering great carrying capacity.
The Y67is a 36-ply tough-tread measuring 44x15x20 and is engineered for large shuttle cars, Yokohama said, providing greater carrying capacity without having to change rims. Its wide footprint delivers an improved ride and longer tire life, according to the Fullerton-based tire maker.
