BOWIE, Md. (Sept. 5, 2013) — The Tire Industry Association (TIA), in partnership with Federated Insurance, is hosting a webinar, "How to Establish a Drug- and Alcohol-Free Workplace," from 1 to 1:45 p.m. CDT on Sept. 26.
According to the American Council for Drug Education, 72 percent of drug users are employed. They are 10 times more likely to miss work, 33 percent less production, and 3.6 times more likely to be involved in workplace accidents than drug-free workers.
Drug users are also five times more likely to injure themselves on the job than drug-free workers, and five times more likely to file workers' compensation claims, according to statistics.
Presented by Craig Dolan of Federated Insurance, the webinar will address the steps and resources available from Federated to help companies implement an effective program to keep drugs and alcohol out of the workplace.
The webinar is free and open to all current and prospective TIA members. To pre-register, click here. For more information on the webinar, contact Donna Sage, TIA director of marketing, at 301-430-7280 ext. 102 or via email at [email protected].
