NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 5, 2013) — Bridgestone Americas and the Canada Safety Council have joined to launch a website designed to promote safe driving among teenagers.
The website contains driving tips and resources not only for teens, but for drivers of all ages, Bridgestone said. Resources available on the website include blog posts, middle- and high-school curriculums, driving contracts and even a downloadable "Back Seat Driver's License" for those still not ready to drive.
Although drivers aged 15 to 24 make up only 13 percent of the Canadian population, they accounted for nearly 23 percent of vehicle fatalities in Canada in 2010, said Raymond Marchand, general manager of the Canada Safety Council.
"Providing content on this new site will allow us to reach a wider range of young people, teaching them the importance of safe driving," Mr. Marchand said.
The website is available in both English and French versions.
