FINDLAY, Ohio — Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has called a special shareholders' meeting Sept. 30 to vote on the pending buyout by Indian tire maker Apollo Tyres Ltd.
The meeting will take place at 10 a.m. at the offices of law firm Jones Day in Cleveland. Shareholders of record as of the close of business Aug. 30 are entitled to vote, Cooper said.
Cooper also has filed a definitive proxy statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission covering terms of the proposed transaction.
Cooper and Apollo announced the proposed deal on June 12.
Combining the companies will create an entity with about $6.6 billion in annual sales, with 14 plants in eight countries on four continents.
