IRVING, Texas (Aug. 16, 2013) — Heartland Automotive Services Inc., the largest Jiffy Lube franchisee in the U.S., has named Jim Marcum, an executive with extensive retail experience, to succeed Brett Ponton as the company's president and CEO.
Mr. Ponton, president and CEO since 2009, is leaving the company. During his tenure the company refreshed all of its locations, revitalized its marketing efforts and introduced new services to the brand, Heartland said.
Mr. Marcum most recently was president and CEO of Central Parking Corp., Heartland said, where he oversaw a marketing strategy leveraging digital technology. He also has been CEO of Circuit City Inc. and Ultimate Electronics — both since out of business — as well.
While at Circuit City, Mr. Marcum led the largest re-branding effort in company history and drove new customer service strategies.
Irving-based Heartland Automotive operates 545 Jiffy Lube franchise locations in 25 states. It is owned by an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners Inc.
T. Scott King, a Sun Capital director, called Mr. Marcum a "seasoned executive" with a wealth of retail experience.
