Continental Tire's ProContact TX will roll on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited Edition in the third quarter of the year.

FORT MILL, S.C. (Aug. 14, 2013) —Chrysler Group L.L.C. has selected the Continental ProContact TX as the standard OE fitment on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited Edition.

Conti said the approved fitments are size 225/55R18 for the 4X2 models and 225/60R18 for the 4X4 versions, which will appear on showroom floors in the third quarter.

The ProContact TX is a touring performance, all-season tire designed for comfort and handling, Conti said, and its low density undertread compound helps ensure that impacts and road vibrations are absorbed for a smooth ride.

Other features include a balanced sipe-to-block ratio that gives all-weather grip and handling while the blocking rib on the tire's shoulder block reduces noise by keeping it contained to the tread area.

Chrysler said the Limited edition offers a "perfect blend of luxurious amenities to help you look sharp in the city or the country."

It's equipped with a four-cylinder, 2.4-liter "MultiAir" engine, nine-speed automatic transmission and offers 4,500 lb towing capacity. Suggested retail prices start at $29,995, Chrysler said.

Earlier Chrysler disclosed it had selected Firestone Destination LE2 and Destination A/T tires OE on the Jeep Cherokee base models.
