MIAMI (Aug. 13, 2013) — Media firm Latin Trade Group is feting Goodyear with its first Trade Americas Award, which recognizes the company for its "valuable contributions fostering the development of small and medium-size enterprises development" in the Latin America region.
Goodyear said it will be honored with the BRAVO Trade Americas Award at the 19th edition of the BRAVO Business Awards on Oct. 25 in Miami.
"It is an honor for us at Goodyear to be recognized for our working relationship and the collaboration developed with our distributors throughout the region," said Jaime Szulc, president of Goodyear's Latin America region.
"It will be a pleasure to share this award with our distributors."
He said the Akron-based tire manufacturer's success in the region is due largely to the emphasis it places on listening to its distributors and end users.
Goodyear operates seven tire plants in five countries throughout Latin America, which helped generate $2.09 billion in sales in 2012 — a total that represents 9.9 percent of the firm's global sales. It employes 5,400 throughout the region.
Miami-based Latin Trade Group is a business media and events company publishing in Spanish and English for distribution throughout Latin America, the Caribbean and the U.S.
