MONTGOMERY, N.Y. (Aug. 12, 2013) — Aftermarket parts supplier Advance Auto Parts Inc. opened its 4,000th store Aug. 10 in Montgomery.
Since 1995, the Roanoke, Va.-based company has added more than 3,000 stores to its operations through new store openings and strategic acquisitions. The new store is located in the Northeast, "a key geographic growth area for Advance and part of the company's strategy to continue expanding its footprint," Advance said.
Darren Jackson, Advance CEO, thanked the company's more than 54,000 employees "for their hard work and contributions to our success," noting that "over the past 81 years we have grown from three stores in Virginia to a national chain serving millions of customers in 39 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
"Our company is continuing to grow, continuing to serve and furthering our commitment to grow our business with integrity and serve our customers better than anyone."
Advance said it selects store locations "that are convenient to where customers live and shop as well as the garages where they take their vehicles for repair."
The latest store offers parts, national brands as well as several free services. Store employees will, for instance, provide free installation of windshield wipers and also offer a complimentary check of a vehicle's electrical system and old battery as well as provide free installation of a new battery on most vehicles.
The company plans to celebrate the opening of the 4,000th store on Wednesday, Aug. 14 with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Montgomery store. Company executives and team employees will attend the ceremony, along with local business leaders and community partners. To mark the event, Advance said it will donate $4,000 to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
