BREUBERG, Germany (Aug. 7, 2013) --- Pirelli Tyre S.p.A.'s Pneumobil G.m.b.H. subsidiary has acquired two German retail tire chains totaling 11 outlets, expanding its captive retail network of stores to 70 outlets.
The two dealerships, Reifen Bland in Düren and Reifen Wagner R.W., operate one and 10 outlets, respectively.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The Reifen Wagner transaction will take effect Sept. 1, and Pneumobil will continue to use the Reifen Wagner name for the foreseeable future.
Pirelli has been building its captive retail business the past few years through acquisition.
Last year Pirelli expanded its retail holdings in Brazil and Sweden with purchases totaling 120 stores --- 60 percent control of Campneus Líder de Pneumáticos Ltda. in Brazil and total control of Däckia Holding A.B. in Sweden.
Pirelli also is building a network of premium tire stores in Russia in partnership with Rosneft Oil Co., a leading Russian oil and gas concern that operates 1,800 filling stations throughout the country.
