GREENVILLE, S.C. (July 12, 2013) — Michelin North America Inc. is voluntarily recalling approximately 100,000 Michelin-brand touring and light truck tires to retrieve an estimated 2,500 tires that could have partial or full sidewall perforations that could cause them to experience loss of air pressure.

The recall involves certain sizes of the Michelin LTX M/S2, X Radial LT2 and Latitude Tour tires sold primarily in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, Greenville-based Michelin said.

The tires, built at the company's plant in Lexington, S.C., during a period stretching from the 38th week of 2012 through the 21st week of 2013, are typically found on light trucks and SUVs.

No deaths, injuries or accidents have been reported in connection with these recalled tires, Michelin said, although the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) tire recall database shows multiple complaints filed of late on all three models.

Michelin did not elaborate on what caused the problems that prompted it to recall these tires, but it said it has identified and fixed the issue.

Owners of the affected tires should visit an authorized Michelin retail location as soon as possible to have the tires replaced at no charge, according to the company.

The tires being recalled are as follows:

Line  — Size —  DOT ID code —  Mfg. dates

    LTX M/S2 — P275/55R20 111T — B99Y56EX — 3812 to 2113

    LTX M/S2 — P265/65R18 112T — B9XP001X — 0513 to 2113

    LTX M/S2 — P265/60R18 109T — B95E788X — 1513 to 2113

    X Radial LT2 — P265/65R18 112T — B9KA003X — 0513 to 2113

    X Radial LT2 — P275/55R20 111T — B99Y001X — 0513 to 2113

    Latitude Tour — P255/60R19 108S — B9R1W3WX — 1913 to 2113

    Latitude Tour — P255/70R18 112T — B9YU99CX — 1313 to 2113
