SEATTLE (July 10, 2013) — Aftermarket import parts distributor Altrom Group Inc. has named oil and additives marketer Liqui Moly G.m.b.H. its supplier of the year.

Auburn, Wash.-based Altrom America is the import parts division of Genuine Parts Co., which operates NAPA Auto Parts stores.

Ulm. Germany-based Liqui Moly offers a range of 4,000 products, including motor oils, additives, vehicle care and service products. The supplier of the year award, for the U.S. and Canada, was presented at Altrom's recent sales summit in Seattle.

Altrom said the criteria for eligible companies was the ability to "impress the judging panel in the areas of quality, commitment, sales growth, marketing initiatives, training and sales support, commitment to meeting orders and partnership."

The company has worked closely with Liqui Moly, it said, because import vehicles are the main focus of both companies—particularly automobiles from Europe that "often require not just any motor oil, but rather a special oil precisely suited to the engine."

Altrom President Pat Nichol attributed Liqui Moly's receiving the award to "hard work, dedication and partnership…."

Manfred Fischer, who is responsible for Liqui Moly's North American operations, said the firm's "recipe for success" goes "beyond top products made in Germany…. These are supported by training seminars and technical support, as well as sales tips and marketing materials."

Liqui Moly was founded 50 years ago. Its products are sold in Germany and in 100 other countries.
