AKRON, Ohio (July 1, 2013) — Faith Stewart, Goodyear's community affairs manager, has been named one of four recipients of a 2013 Woman of Achievement award given by Women's Network of Northeast Ohio.
Goodyear said the award, presented each year since 1999, recognizes women who have a history of encouraging success among women, breaking down barriers, mentoring, taking risks to overcome obstacles, and supporting the progress of women toward full participation in economic, community and family life.
Ms. Stewart was recognized for her commitment to and advocacy for non-profit and service organizations in Akron, the tire maker said. She joined Goodyear in 1982 and has led the company's community relations and charitable outreach activities since 2003, which include the company's financial support to non-profit organizations in the communities around the globe.
Goodyear said Ms. Stewart has a long record of community service. She is a graduate of Leadership Akron, a member of the Leadership Akron Alumni Association, and a past recipient of the Women's Network Women of Professional Excellence Award. She currently serves on the Salvation Army Advisory Council and is a past trustee board member of Akron Summit Community Action Inc. and the Better Business Bureau of Akron Inc.
