AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (June 25, 2013) — Chrysler Group L.L.C. recently honored wheel-weight manufacturer Perfect Equipment Inc. with its "Emerging Supplier of the Year" award.
This is the second OE supplier award this year for Murfreesboro, Tenn.-based Perfect Equipment. It also was honored earlier this year by Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America Inc. with the car maker's Certificate of Achievement for Supplier Diversity award for excellence in product quality and delivery.
Chrysler gave Perfect Equipments the award at its 2013 Annual Strategy Meeting and Supplier Awards Ceremony held at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Chrysler did not define what "emerging supplier" means but said award recipients were determined based on an evaluation of each company's external balanced scorecard performance—a rating system that evaluates supplier performance in areas such as quality, delivery, cost, warranty and partnership—and input from Chrysler Group senior leadership.
Toyota said Perfect Equipment earned its OE award for exceeding the quality performance goals set in 2012 as a part of Toyota's Annual Purchasing Policy activity.
"We value the long-term partnerships we have with our OEM customers," said Jeff Waechter, president and CEO of Perfect Equipment, after receiving Toyota's award.
"Our team strives to manufacture and deliver the highest quality wheel balance solutions available and provide our customers with industry leading customer service. It is an honor for our company's hard work in these areas to be recognized."
Founded in 1939, Perfect Equipment was acquired in 2005 by Wegmann Automotive, a German industrial company, and is part of a global network of wheel-weight companies, including Hoffman Group, a pioneer in zinc-based alernatives to steel wheel weights.
Perfect Equipment opened its plant in Murfreesboro in 2006.
