CENTREVILLE, Va. (June 25, 2013) — Carfax has unveiled a free mobile app to help car owners track their vehicles' service history and maintenance schedules.
Car owners can create their free myCARFAX account through a mobile app for iPhone and Android as well as online at the myCARFAX website.
"Keeping your vehicle well maintained can improve your resale value and keep your family safer," said Larry Gamache, communications director at Carfax.
"Staying on top of what maintenance your car needs and when can be complicated, and keeping track of it all is a huge hassle. Now, myCARFAX does the work for you. Your car's service history is automatically stored in one place whenever you visit any of the 26,000 service locations that are partnered with Carfax."
A recommended maintenance schedule informs owners about the services needed for their car at specific mileage intervals. The app also finds local service shops that are partnered with Carfax.
Carfax, which is owned by R.L. Polk & Co., operates a vehicle history database of more than 11 billion vehicle records from more than 75,000 sources across North America.
