GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 20, 2013) — Two Royal Tire Inc. employees at the dealership's Grand Forks, N.D., location have started a nonprofit foundation to help educate children in Liberia.

Ebenezer Nyanswah, a tire maintenance tech, and Melton Dadeah, a mobile tire maintenance tech — both refugees from Liberia — started the Nyanswah Foundation earlier this year to raise money for school supplies, Royal Tire said. Born in Liberia, Messrs. Nyanswah and Dadeah hope to raise enough money to build a school eventually.

"When I was a child I did not get the chance to go to school," Mr. Nyanswah said. "I believe that education is important to a child's future, and that no child should have to miss out. I started this foundation as a way to give back to my community.

"My goal is to raise money to cover the costs of school, food, and clothing for the children in Liberia so that everyone has a chance at the education they deserve."

Mr. Dadeah added, "We were so lucky to come to America. When we were growing up, we never had anything, so we wanted to look out for kids back there."

Mike Klaers, manager of the Grand Forks Royal Tire said he is "very proud" of the "hard work they have put into this" and it is his opinion that "this is living the Royal Tire mission beyond the work place."

Local television station WDAZ aired a piece on the pair recently.
